Category Manager Food Ingredients (Trading)
DO IT Organic is growing rapidly. That’s why we are expanding our Category Management team.
We are not looking for a standard buyer, but for someone who truly understands the landscape of international trade in food ingredients. Someone who knows how prices move, how to position suppliers, and how to continuously balance commercial opportunities and risk.
Are you currently working as a buyer, trader or category manager within food? Then this is your opportunity to grow into a role with more ownership and direct impact. Not only for your own category, but also on the further development of a fully organic food chain, in collaboration with a global network of farmers and suppliers.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you are fully responsible for your own product category. You set the direction, build relationships and drive results.
In practice, you will:
Define and execute the procurement strategy for your category
Build and maintain relationships with international suppliers
Negotiate and close contracts
Actively respond to market developments (availability, pricing, risks)
Work closely with Sales on aligning supply and demand
Manage margin, turnover and continuity within your category
You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Sales, Quality and Finance and have direct influence on what we buy and sell.
You will work with one or more categories within our organic assortment, such as nuts, seeds, grains, rice and other food ingredients. As we source globally, speed and timing are key in this role.
What will you bring?
At least 5 years of experience as a buyer, trader or category manager
Experience with international trade in food ingredients
Strong negotiation and commercial skills
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Full-time availability (5 days) at our office in Barneveld
What do we offer?
You will join us at a time of growth and expansion, with plenty of room to build and shape your category. This means you won’t just have responsibility, you’ll have real influence on results and direction.
In addition, you can expect employment conditions that match this level, including:
A non-contributory pension scheme (we cover your contribution)
26 days of annual leave and 8% holiday allowance (paid in May)
A discretionary bonus, depending on company performance and individual assessment
Travel allowance (€0.23 per km from 10 km, no maximum)
The opportunity to participate through STAK certificates
Curious about the salary?
During an initial conversation, we will provide you with an indication of the salary range for this position.
